Some Voices launches in Brighton, Cambridge and Newcastle

We are all looking forward to July 19th when hopefully the majority of COVID restrictions will end in England. That means we can finally return to in-person choir rehearsals and singing together once again. As well as bringing back 12 London choirs, we are also relaunching our Newcastle choir which had a fantastic beginning in January 2020, and starting two brand new choirs in Brighton and Cambridge.

Some Voices Newcastle Choir

Our Newcastle choir will once again be led by the incomparable Lea Cornthwaite, known for his work with Opera North, ENO, the LSO, Sing Up, Glyndebourne and Mind & Soul choir amongst others. Rehearsals will take place on Mondays, 7-8.30pm at Blackfriars @ Ouseburn.

"I'm so excited to get back to live singing in Newcastle. The city has such a fantastic musical and social scene, and that special Some Voices vibe of brilliant music and fun times fits this unique (and friendliest!) part of the country perfectly!" Lea

Some Voices Brighton Choir

Some Voices is heading to the seaside with our brand new Brighton choir, led by singer song-writer Jade Williams aka Jade Like The Stone.

Rehearsals will take place right in the heart of Brighton at the Brighthelm Centre, every Wednesday from 7-8.30pm, in the beautiful auditorium.

Some Voices Cambridge Choir

Choir leader, teacher, actor and musician Tom Jack is delighted to be leading our new Cambridge choir in the city where his professional career began and where he has recently moved from London. The venue is Hills Road Sixth Form College, conveniently located just 10 mins walk from Cambridge train station.

“I am buzzing at the thought of joining up with some happy singers and making some great big, sweet, sweet music again.  It's been too long, and it'll be a privilege to share the space with some like-minded people, making noise with smiles on our faces. Cambridge is where it all began for me, professionally, as a musician, and our rehearsal venue is extra special, as it is where I was involved in one of my first productions (cough) years ago!” Tom

All Some Voices choirs are non-audition and open to everyone. We strive to make being part of our choir as inclusive and accessible as possible. You don’t need to read music - everything is learned by ear. It’s all about having fun and making a sound together.
